I am a graduate of USM and looking to do research. Can I access USM's databases from home?

As an Alumni of USM, you don't have the same database access that you had while enrolled as a USM student. Our database licenses limit off-campus use to current students, faculty, and staff. However, Alumni and members of the public may come into the library and use our public computers to have access to USM's databases.

If you are a Maine resident, you have access to dozens of databases through Digital Maine Library. You may be asked to enter your Library barcode number. If you use your USM Alumni ID Card, it will be the number beginning with 250... or 218... Those with Maine public library cards can use Digital Maine Library too. You just need to enter the number from your public library card.

You can get a USM Alumni ID Card from the Campus Card office. Be sure to stop by a USM Campus Library to get your Alumni ID Card activated for library use or call 207-780-4270 to have your card activated.
