How do I search online to see if you have a book I am looking for?

You can search for books in our catalog, URSUS, that includes all UMS libraries and several other libraries..

From the USM Library homepage, click on the Catalog (URSUS) tab, and then Advanced Search. You can search by keyword, title, or author. You can limit by campus location, material type (book, e-book, score, streaming video,...).

Note: You can REQUEST to have books from another campus sent for free to the USM campus of your choice. However, USM students only have access to e-books and streaming videos that allow USM access or UMS access. E-books and streaming videos cannot be borrowed from other libraries.

If you can't find what you need in URSUS, try expanding your search to MaineCat and search more Maine libraries. You can REQUEST to have MaineCat books sent for free to the USM campus of your choice, except for e-books and streaming videos.

If you are unable to find what you need, you can search in WorldCat (on the homepage, click Databases, W, and scroll to WorldCat) and place a free Request via InterLibary Loan (ILLiad account). Ask if you need assistance.
