Can students, staff, or faculty from other colleges or universities use the libraries? Can the public use the libraries?

Yes, the USM Libraries are open to the public.

University of Maine System (UMS) Students, Staff, & Faculty:

Students, staff, or faculty from UMS institutions can sign-in to student computers to use the internet and print. Also, they can use their personal devices and connect to eduroam or tempest wifi and print, once the printing program is downloaded.

Other college or university visitors:

If you have your own device, visitors can connect to the Guest wifi. Visitors are not able to print from their own device.

There are public computers in the Glickman Library, Portland, on the first floor. Visitors must show an ID to purchase a guest computer card ($5.00) to use the public computers. The computer card allows the visitor to use the public computers for one hour/day. Visitors may add money to to this card for printing.
