I'm in the library and a man is talking loudly on the phone and disturbing me. What should I do?

Please find the nearest library staff person and ask them to speak to the patron talking on the phone. If there isn't a staff person on the floor, you can call the desk: Portland 207-780-4270, Gorham 207-780-5345, or Lewiston-Auburn 207-753-6542.

Each Library floor in Portland and Gorham is designated for silence, quiet conversation, or collaborative work. Please note the volume level for talking on the floor you are on. Patrons need to be respectful of others and should either go to a stairwell or leave the library for a long phone conversation.

Review the Expectations of Appropriate Conduct in the USM Libraries' Policies.
